“Priviet” from St Petersberg

Did a stop over in Oslo after Barcelona on Thursday and hopped on a flight to St Petersberg on Friday morning. So this one comes straight from Russia.

I’ve never been able to get my head around this part of the world. Probably because of the language, the image created by the media, the confusing and sensational history. Hence, I’ve been looking forward to being here for quite a long time now.

3 days in St Petersberg and then around the west of Russia on rail. Enjoying the food a lot and the place is definitely as intriguing as I thought before I got here.

One day and 2 Pizza benchmarks

“Fugi fugi” in Loco – the bestestest pizza I’ve tasted so far. Definitely.

“Romana” in Genova – anchioves beat garlic and onions, but DO NOT belong on a pizza. Most definitely not.

Signing off from the WOW Genova.

The obligatory photo from Paris

There we go. It was definitely impressive.

Now in Zurich. The city always reminds of the Le Corbusier styled blocks of housing back home. Eurotrip leg two starts tomorrow.

Amsterdam coffeeshops in Paris !

As if. You’ve been April-foolified.

</lame joke>

Not only are the coffee shops missing. So is courtesy, hot water in my bathroom, hot water in the room heater, eating places post midnight and €150 from my pocket. A Stupid train reservation system meant the ticket we needed to get on the train from Amsterdam to Paris had to be collected in Paris. Brilliant.

Hmmm … the wallpaper at the hostel is nice …
